#Inktober over – Final gallery

In fun, illustration, personal, work on 02/11/2014 at 14:38

A very fun thing to be part of, it put some of the playfulness back into what I´m doing.
These are all for sale. Price: You name it. Just be sure you can look me in the eye when you do.
Drop me a line if you see something you like.

I put some rules for myself:
1. No sketching. Ink is ink is ink.
2. Only black ink (except one exception to confirm the rule)
3. Don´t spend more than 10 minutes on it.
-It was fun to see how the drawing turned out when you couldn´t sketch. It´s like doing surgery with a hand behind your back. The ones using photo reference turned weird and warped, because it was tricky to put in markers to keep the proportions in check, therefore some areas grew and others shrank, giving a kinda melted look. As well as how your eye gets used to mistakes, so things get skewed when your usual helplines aren´t present.

A simple, but noble mission

In fun, music, musings on 05/06/2014 at 19:03

I consider myself a fairly content guy, but there are times when my heart sinks with deep melancholy. I am of course talking about the fact that there are people in the world who have never heard The Velvet Underground.
I won’t go on about the band, as I’m sure you are all familiar with them. As you should.
But there are pockets of humanity out there, ENTIRELY UNFAMILIAR with the oeuvre of New York’s sleazy garage poets. Now that’s a damn crime.
I suggest a missionary crusade to rectify this. Hordes of missionaries will be equipped with boomboxes and airlifted into the most remote corners of the world. Missionaries will go from door to door with the familiar refrain: ‘Good afternoon. Have you heard of The Velvet Underground? May we come in for a minute and talk to you about White Light White Heat?’
Once we have covered the world and given this gift upon humanity, we’ll start with the Talking Heads.

Tax cuts should be more gay

In fun, musings, personal, politics on 12/05/2014 at 10:50

Random thought while doing dishes:
LGBTQ folks are taxpayers. They are not getting their money´s worth for their taxes, as long as the state can´t guarantee equal treatment for marriage, adoption, blood donation and freedom from harassment.
So, LGBTQ peeps should get a tax cut. That would
A: make the state hurry up about civil rights in general and
B: create hilarious scenes of rich kids doing their damndest to classify as gay, in order to nab that tax cut. Gonna be a lot more rainbow flags on the golf courses and freemason churches.

It´s not fair that LBGTQ´s are paying as much taxes as the rest of us. If they can´t have kids or inherit their partners, at least give em a tax cut until you fixed matters.

Old music – O

In fun, music on 22/08/2013 at 00:25

Caught myself cleaning up/syncing some hard drives (because they keep failing – 4 drives gone this year!) and started to listen to a project I was doing with my old buddy/musical genius Freddy Holm and lo and behold – the stuff held up, ten-eleven years later.
Most of the music was composed and improvised while recording and lyrics were made up on the spot. It was a hugely rewarding project and I learned a ton from Freddy while at it. It was hit or miss, but I gotta say that our tally was pretty good.

Between 96 and 2002 we recorded over 40 tracks, everything from Resident´sy sound experiments to gibberish russian opera to synthrock to psych and everywhere in between.
Here´s five tunes, enjoy!

Comics workshop – Cough or DEATH

In comics, fun, work on 13/08/2012 at 07:46

As per 2009, I´ve had the privilege of holding a yearly comics workshop at Metropolia University of Applied Science.

It´s engaging, intense and I´m always amazed at how much good stuff people can make in just five days.

This year, we conceptualized, wrote, pencilled, inked, colored, layouted and printed (30 copies) a zine called “Cough or DEATH!”

Click here to download the PDF and marvel at this unique piece of art.

Skjebnebok Spotify Playlist

Inspirert av den eminente Øyvind Holens playlist for hans og Mikael Noguchi sitt “Drabant”-prosjekt, skramlet jeg sammen litt passende øresnacks for boka. Klikk på bildet for å høre.

Us kids in Nazca released a brand new video for a brand new tune off our brand new album. It´s worth your precious time. Trust me. Check it out.
